Try Linux without committing your whole PC

Prepare carefully
Download an installation image from the distribution’s official website and follow its USB creation instructions. Writing an image erases the selected USB drive, so check the target before continuing. Back up important files before any installation work.
Test the everyday things
Choose the try option rather than installation. Test Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, speakers, microphone, webcam, screen brightness, and external monitors. Open a few familiar websites and see how the desktop feels.
Decide later
A live session lets you explore before installing. Performance from a USB drive can be slower than an installed system. If you decide to install alongside Windows, read the current BitLocker and partitioning guidance first.
